IT Outsourcing in India Grows 13%
IT outsourcing in India is still growing, with the top 20 firms reporting and average growth of over 13% year on year. Revenues posted for these top 20 firms combined for a total value of Rs 32,246 crore, according to Dataquest magazine.
The average growth rate of 13% maintained the same level from the previous year, when growth also averaged 13% year on year. The industry appears to be entering a transformational phase as it adopts emerging technologies like cloud computing and shifts its focus onto emerging markets. The BPO industry trends worth watching going forward include the focus on initiatives to build greater onshore capacity and leverage cloud models. The growth in jobs generated by BPO firms matched the growth in revenues at 13% year on year, with a total of over 300,000 jobs added over the last year.
